CIFT provides the following services for restaurants and food service departments:
Through CIFT's Local Initiatives, local restaurants and school systems are connected with farmers interested in growing and selling requested items to these establishments.
They collaboratively determine varieties grown, pricing, packaging, and delivery schedules in an effort to enhance freshness, nutritional value, and quality for consumers -- while supporting and enhancing local business efforts. Fresh Sheets are updated weekly with available produce and distributed to chefs interested in obtaining local produce for their menus.
Good worker hygiene and proper sanitation are critical within all food handling establishments. Information and programs are designed to relate the issues associated with not complying with approved practices. Training sessions and resources are available to communicate the importance of food safety and how to protect employees, consumers, and business operations.
